the cute factor.
The cute factor is incredibly important. A high enough cute factor will make the shitty thing your coworker did today slip from your mind. It will make the dog shit your stepped in today because you live amongst assholes seem trivial. It will make the dog shit your dog left you on the carpet a minor inconvenience as opposed to a direct attack on your sanity. So, my dear friends, allow me to up the cute factor.
You all awww’d at Adreanna’s hoodie and blanket on the hanger, but you haven’t seen anything yet. I give you, my beautiful cousin modeling her gifts (that it took me a month to get to her!): *All pics in this post are clickable*

She is also entranced by Nintendo Wii…as am I…now I want one. And I don’t even usually like video games.
We’ll get back to the cute factor momentarily. Since last I posted I spent a weekend in Maine for Jon’s maternal family’s reunion bash. We had a good time and I got to meet some relatives I didn’t meet at our wedding. I got a little knitting done on my now-nearly-done Buttony Sweater (no pix though, it’s a surprise!) and even that wretched Jaywalker.
I went a little Martha before we left and baked some pies for the reunion, and a batch of Jesh’s Famous Peanut Butter Cookies (of Knitty Board fame).
I always getting in baking mode in the fall…it’s just so…fall…
MMMMM…now I’m hungry. Good thing I have cookie dough in the fridge. Diet be damned.
I’m back in school now, and up to my eyeballs! I have 3 classes, one honors seminar on Woman/Gender in Psychology, an honors component in my English Lit (I’m photographing and writing papers on historical landmarks in New England), 6 hours working in the writing lab, 2 hours with a disabled student, an hour in the ESL lab, and by-appointment tutoring hours. I am TIRED! But it feels good to be tutoring and doesn’t hurt to get a small paycheck! I’m hoping to graduate with my Community Honors Scholar status in check and hopefully Summa Cum Laude (only a couple more A’s away!) I’m feeling pretty good all around!
Even Zoe is having a great start at school! She’s got a GREAT teacher that really works WITH her instead of around her and she’s had mostly great days. The ones that weren’t great were “fair”. Fair enough! I’m also getting her a Math tutor this year. We started her off nice with her first real hair cut in years!
On the knitting front, as I said I am nearly done with the Buttony Sweater but that’s basically all I’ve been working on because I want it done so badly. I’m already having xmas knitting anxiety…and of course I haven’t started! I fail.
And for everyone going to Rhinebeck, I’m a square in this year’s blogger bingo! I’ll be there Saturday and I’ll be wearing my “I’m a square” button. Come find me and say hi!! Don’t be shy!

I’m still not 100% sure how this works, so I opted to just be a square (story of my life, really). I’m so excited for Rhinebeck. I’m coming with 2 of my sister in laws and my mother in law via the Yarn Safari bus trip! (Which is sold out!)
So that’s it for now. My laptop and Wordpress don’t get along and it makes my computer freeze every 2 sentences or so. (Wish I could afford a new one!) So I’ll leave you with one more boost of cute factor. I finally got a couch (I have had nowhere to sit in the living room for about 9 months) and apparently it’s a big hit…for SOME of the occupants in this house:
